Story pending delivery by Sam or others. A couple photos sent in by Bill of the pizza festivities are also available.
Mark was absent for this last game of the season to be with his father who passed away on 8/30/06 at 5:10 AM in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The La Monkeys of Pasadena, who were supposed to be our opponents called earlier in the day to indicate that they would be short of players. Sam suggested that whoever on their team that wanted to play should show up as we were going to have a good turnout...and you know what that means. As a result, at game time the Monkeys had to forfeit after which a great game of the Home and Away Turkey Teams (sprinkled with some monkeys on each) played against each other.
This marks the first season in several years that the Turkeys broke the 500 mark in wins for the season! Congrats to ALL who played with us this season. We had newbies who played several games, summer student employees who carried us to many victories in mid-season, all the while with a great core of experienced and softball loving players. One couldn't ask for a better season. I know that I appreciate it that all of you made the season as fun as it was. Thanks.
See you at the team party!!
