The season opener was, like the past two years, against the L.A. Radars. And like last year I can report (quoting from last year) "We played well but fell short." We have several new temmates joining us this year and at this time one of them has yet to play with us! Yep...Monica strained a leg muscle just moments before the game. Probably a team record for the earliest injury! She was pretty frosted about it after having to watch her other half play the entire game. Andre and Jamie played their first game as Turkeys and did quite well. Unfortunately the team lost their season opener...again. But that won't keep us down. The game went pretty long and ultimately both managers agreed that the game would be over after only 5 innings. (We'll not see that next week with the Homers!)
The game was well attended by many of the old timers and equally well was the pizza dinner attended. The general concenses is that this team is coming alive already and we're looking for our first win to come soon. In the mean time here's the box score for the game:
