Meera is half of the dynamic duo of "Jon and Meera"...the better half? It seems so. She is quiet. She is smaller. She is a mom. But WOW does she know how to hit and catch. Meera joined the team in the last half of 2005 having played a number of seasons with the Deep Space Cadets from back in the late 90's. Meera will undoubtedly have a high on base percentage this year and will contribute more than her fair share to the defense playing at both second and short field. What's more, she has the range to play many innings in right field where the unsuspecting batter may be tempted to beat her with a big fly ball. Poor unfortunate batter! She will get under it and make the out.
Meera was the recipient of the "Turkey of the Week" award for the second game of the season for both her offensive and defensive play. She made sweet high fly catches at critical times in the game putting a stop to potential runaways by the opponents offense and keeping us in the game that we eventually won.
