Homers Pound Turkeys, 24-12, Onslaught Tempered by Mercy

Tonight the Homers spotted the Wild Turkeys a 6-3 lead after the 1st inning, but then they got down to business. Their 13-run outburst in the top of the 2nd was only stopped with the help of a mercy out when the score reached 16-6. For the rest of the game, the Homers continued to cede one or two outs per inning as the margin fluctuated between 10 and 16 runs. Our bats came finally alive again in the bottom of the 7th, and our modest 4-run rally kept the final score somewhat respectable at 24-12. Much too little, much too late.
