Play-by-Play Summary* |

*To read the play-by-play game summary, you will have to learn Sam's syntax for describing the play-by-play action.
Second win of the season!! Unfortunately, early in the game we had a mishap. While playing in the catchers position, Sam made a valiant attempt to catch a pop-up in foul territory along the third base line. As he made the acrobatic diving catch he fell on his left side with his arm extended. Crunch! From center field Mark could tell what had happened when he matter of factly said to Jim in right field, "he just broke his calvicle". Matt was early on the scene and thought the same thing when he waved Mark and Bill in to check on Sam. With a big obvious bump very near the surface of the skin, it was decided that Sam should go to the hospital. Mike was gracious enought to drive him down there. Little did he know that it would be midnight before he made it home that night! Mark and Rosana met them on their way back from the hospital to pick up Sam's car and drive him the rest of the way home. Sure enough, the collar bone was bronken and fully seperated. Mark had mentioned half-joking that "with Sam's history and broken bones I wouldn't be surprised if it won't required surgury"...which is exactly what the prognosis would determine. As of this writing he couldn't get into surgyry the next night and was instead scheduled for June 12, which occured on schedule. Sam is now resting peacefully awaiting his next opportunity to play. As before this report is being written many weeks after the actual game. I'll add more to this story as it progresses in the various other game reports.
